The story

An alarm is a blunt instrument. It makes a noise, your hand finds it, and you are asleep again before you have decided anything — the dismissing is a reflex, not a choice.

WakeyCall replaces the noise with a conversation. It calls and talks to you, and it wants an answer. You set the window yourself — forty seconds is typical — and if you have not actually spoken in that time, it assumes the reflex won and comes round again. Getting up becomes something you have to say out loud, which turns out to be much harder to fake than reaching for a button.

It does not stop at the morning. You can set it to check in at any point in the day, and at night it takes your journal the way a person would — by asking, and listening to the answer, rather than handing you an empty text box at the moment you have least energy to fill one.

The part that compounds is memory. It learns what your days look like, so the questions stop being generic and start being about your life. Voice is the right surface for all of this precisely because it works at the two moments a screen is worst: the minute you wake up and the minute before you sleep.

We are pointing it at the US and other Western markets first, where a wake-up call is already a habit people understand and pay for, and where the phone-call-as-a-service idea needs no explaining.

It is built on the same voice core as SamCaller, which is why a brand-new consumer app could ship with conversation quality that took a year of B2B calling to earn.
